Is it Rotten Parenting to Have Fun at the Expense of Children?

Well, what if the kids are having their own, twisted version of fun, too? OK, so here's the deal. The kids and I were at TJ Maxx the other day looking at "stuff". Jonah and Annie spied an outcast from the Jelly Belly company - a game called "Beanboozled". It's just a box of jelly beans with a spinner. From the website:

So yeah. That's the game. They spin, get a color and eat it to find out whether it's delicious jelly bean goodness or putrid. The kids came up with the idea of wanting this game themselves. I SWEAR. However, after a couple of glasses of wine, that evening... I must say that my children have never, EVER been quite so entertaining.

Tears ran down my cheeks and Adrian's while we watched our own version of "Fear Factor" take place in the living room. Eventually, I guess the wine got to Adrian and he decided to play too! I just sat back on the couch and enjoyed myself.
